Prof M Shahed Quraishi

Consultant Otolaryngologist, Doncaster,Hon Senior Lecturer, Sheffield University,Visiting Professor, Capital Medical University, Beijing.
Founding Director of ENT Masterclass®. Trained in Dublin, Nottingham and Toronto. Has been Training Programme Director in ENT and is an FRCS examiner in UK and at the European Board of Otolaryngology, Vienna. He is a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee, UK, and President-elect of the Royal Society of Medicine (Laryngology & Rhinology).
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appointed him as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in June 2017 for services to Medical Education and the National Health Service.

I am a Consultant ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. My main clinical interests are in endoscopic and open partial laryngectomy as well as parotid surgery. I have been on the faculty of numerous ENT and Head and Neck Courses. I am the co-founder of the Birmingham Part III revision course and the co-founder and Director of the European Head and Neck Course. I am a board member of the European Board Exam in ORL. I am Past President of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists and President of the ENT UK Head and Neck Society. I am currently involved in setting up a UK H&N Patient Advocacy Group. I have developed links with Head and Neck Surgeons in Africa and am working with colleagues to help train H&N surgeons in Malawi and Rwanda.

Professor Saeed is currently a leading surgeon and researcher in disorders of the ear, hearing, balance, facial nerve and skullbase. He manages patients from all over the UK as well internationally.

Mr. Hesham Saleh FRCS

He is a consultant rhinologist/facial plastic surgeon at Charing Cross and Royal Brompton Hospitals. Honorary senior lecturer, Imperial College London.
President Elect of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and Past President of the section of Rhinology in the Royal Society of Medicine. He is an elected council member of Facial Plastic Surgery-UK (FPS-UK) and British Rhinological Society (BRS). He is the Chairman of the Editorial Board of Journal of ENT Masterclass.
He is a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and has been honored with the Claus D. Walter Award for Academic Excellence by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.


Dr. Faruque Riffat FRACS

He is an Australian, UKand US ​trained ENT Head and Neck Surgeon with fellowship training  in surgery for head and neck cancers, thyroid, salivary glands, laser, voice and swallowing disorders.  
​He is currently Assoc Prof in University of Sydney. Prior to this he was consultant head and neck surgeon in Cambridge University Hospitals UK​.
Completed fellowshiptraining requirements for transoral robotic surgery for cancer and sleep apnoea surgery at University of Pennsylvania (USA) to be accredited in the latest DaVinci robot technology.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS).​

Ms Emma Stapleton FRCS

Emma Stapleton completed her higher training in Otolaryngology in the South Yorkshire Rotation. She subsequently undertook a Fellowship on Neuro-otology and Cochlear implant surgery in Manchester. She has published extensively and is a member of numerous national and international courses. She is the International News round Editor at ENT & Audiology News and is currently a Consultant otolaryngologist and Cochlear implant surgeon.


Prof. Anshul Sama FRCS
Consultant University Hospital, Nottingham

Specialist with over 17 years’ University Hospital Consultant experience in treating conditions of the Nose and Sinuses (Rhinology). Runs the premier Frontal sinus surgery course and Facial Aesthetic Surgery course aimed at training other consultants in these areas of surgery. Contribute on multiple Training courses in UK (Royal College of Surgeons, ENT Masterclass, Winchester Sinus Surgery course and others) and Europe (Paris, Amsterdam Copenhagen, Milan Masterclass and Santorini). Member of the Nottingham Skull Base surgery Team and Snoring and Sleep Apnoea Team)
Contributed on 8 book chapters and over 50 publications in the field of Nasal/Sinus or Sleep disordered breathing.

Mr. ArunIyer FRCS
Consultant ENT Surgeon, Glasgow

Mr Iyer is a consultant ENT surgeon & otologist at the University Hospital Monklands, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was trained in the Newcastle rotation and did Otology/Neurotology fellowship at Auckland City Hospital and Starship Children's Hospital, New Zealand. His special interests are endoscopic ear surgery, chronic otitis media especially mastoid cavity obliteration and management of dizziness. He is a member of the international working group in endoscopic ear surgery (IWGEES). Mr Iyer is the college surgical tutor & Education and professional training board member for Otolaryngology at the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow. He is the organiser of the Endoscopic ear surgery course, emergency ENT dissection course, head & neck and emergency ENT course and the temporal bone dissection courses at Glasgow University.


Mr. SanjaiSood FRCS
Consultant Head & Neck Surgeon

Mr Sood's higher specialist training was undertaken in the UK, USA and Australia. He was appointed consultant ENT- neck and thyroid surgeon in 2003..
He is on the council for the British Rhinology Society and North of England ENT Society. He is also on the committee for regional training, clinical governance and a calman head and neck surgeon.Mr Sood's practice is divided between nasal (cosmetic and functional) surgery, sinus surgery, neck and thyroid lumps, voice disorders.

Mr. Guri SandhuMD FRCS

Guri Sandhu MBBS, MD, FRCS (ORL-HNS), hon FRAM, is a leading surgeon, academic and pioneer in Otololaryngology working at Imperial College London. He has a specialist interest in voice, airway and swallowing problems as well as minimally invasive techniques for the management of head and neck tumours. He has one of the largest practices in the world managing adult Laryngotracheal stenosis. 
Mr Sandhu has published over 100 research papers, 15 book chapters and two text books. He is committed to education and training, runs several postgraduate courses and is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally. He co-founded the British Laryngological Association.


Mr. Nick RolandMD, FRCS
Consultant Head & Neck Surgeon

Mr Roland carried out his higher surgical training in Liverpool and Cape Town, South Africa. He was appointed a Consultant ENT Surgeon in 1987 and has vast experience in disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. Mr Roland is the author of the acclaimed post-graduate textbook ‘Key Topics in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery’ which is widely used by trainees and medical professionals.
Mr Roland has a special interest in Facial Plastic Surgery with a particular expertise in cosmetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty), prominent ear correction (otoplasty) and the excision of begin and malignant skin lesions of the face head and neck.

Mr. Peter Clarke FRCS
Consultant Head & Neck Surgeon

Mr Peter Clarke is a consultant at The Royal Marsden since 1996. He has lectured widely on his interests which include surgical voice restoration (SVR), skull base surgery, neck anatomy and neck dissection. He also teaches regularly on DLO/DOHNS, MRCS and SVR courses.
Mr Clarke has written chapters for several leading ENT text books as well as a chapter of a book on skull base surgery. He is a member of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists, the European Laryngological Society and the European Skull Base Society. He is a member of the head and neck subcommittee of ENT-UK and the President of the laryngology section of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Prof Jaydip Ray PhD, FRCS
Consultant Otolaryngologist

Jaydip Ray is Clinical Director and Consultant ENT Surgeon at Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. He completed his higher surgical training in ENT at University Hospital Birmingham. His fellowship experience includes Cambridge, Sydney, Australia and Stanford, USA.He has a wide ranging ENT practice and provides a tertiary referral service for complex hearing and balance disorders. He started the osseointegrated hearing implants and prosthetic ear reconstruction service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.He is the Research Lead for ENT and is an expert member of South Yorkshire Research Ethics Committee. He is a member of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons. He directs the Sheffield Advanced Ear Surgery Course and the Core Skills Course in ENT and lectures regularly on a number of local and national courses and has 40 reviewed publications.

Dr. Ranjith Jayaweera

Dr. Jayaweera is attached to the ministry of health, Sri Lanka and currently work as the Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon, Government Base Hospital, Avissawella, Sri Lanka.  He completed his Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery training in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Jayaweera is a life member of the College of Otorhinolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons of Sri Lanka and has been in the execute committee of the college since 2013. He also serves as a member of the editorial board of Ceylon Journal of Otolaryngology since 2014. He worked as the Scientific Secretary for South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) ENT Congress in 2014, held at Colombo. He is also a past president of Ruhuna and Avissawella Clinical societies. He has been an invited guest of several National and International scientific meetings.



Dr.Etulgama graduated from University of Peradeniya in 1994 with second Class Honors. He won prizes for Midwifery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Suregery for his final MBBS examination.
He passed his   MS (Otorhinolaryngology), in 2003 from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has held the post of Secretary Collage of otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery, Sri Lanka from2010-2012 and Secretary Anuradhapura Clinical society (2006-2008).

  • Cochlear Implant surgery – Trained at University of Wurzburg, Germany in 2008
  • Cochlear Implant  specialized training –Melbourne and Sydney Australia 2010
  • Tutor and invited faculty for world cochlear implantation workshop 2011, Munich Germany
  • Tutor and invited faculty for 13th International Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Auditory Technologies June 2014 Munich Germany.

At Present he works as consultant ENT surgeon In Sirimavao Bandaranayke Hospital, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He has performed more than 350 CI surgeries and performed more than 100 Endoscopic Pituitary and Base of skull surgeries. He Initiated and popularized “paediatric ventilating fibreoptic bronchoscopy” in Sri Lanka.



Dr.A.D.K.S.N.Yasawardene is currently working as a Consultant ENT surgeon at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (Teaching) at Colombo Sri Lanka. He is practicing as a full time Paediatric ENT Surgeon from 2002.He was trained in Sri Lanka and in the United Kingdom. He is the current President of the College of Otorhinolaryngologists & Head and Neck Surgeons of Sri Lanka. He is the Secretary to the Board of Study and an examiner in Otolaryngology at the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine. He initiated the first state sector Cochlear Implantation & Bone anchored Hearing aids programs in Sri Lanka. He is member of the steering committee of the National Plan for Prevention of Deafness in Sri Lanka. His interests include Paediatric Upper Airway surgery and Childhood Deafness.


Dr.K.Chandra Jayasuriya

Dr Chandra Jayasuriya currently work as Consultant ENT Surgeon, ENT Department, National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
She obtained FRCS – Otolaryngology  in 1997 from   Royal College of Surgeons. Edinburgh, UK,MS Otolaryngology – 1996 by the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and D.L.O. – Diploma in Laryngo-otology 1993. She graduated from Faculty Medicine University of Colombo 1982 with Second class at final examination.
She Pioneered in construction and establishment of state of art ENT clinic in year 2005. An abandoned building was renovated and fully equipped with consultation rooms Audiology Department, Speech Therapy department, Pharmacy and Minor Operating Theatre.
She introduced in improving productivity in the ENT unit by implementing 5 S method.
She is a past President of “College of Otorhinolaryngologists and Head & Neck Surgeons of Sri Lanka” (CORLHNS)  and has been  member  of the college  council since 2004.
She also serve  as the Secretary of the Lanka National Laryngectomees Association (LNLA).
She is a amember of Board of Study in Otolaryngology  and examiner in MS part II Otolaryngology examinations.

Presently Consultant ENT Surgeon at Teaching Hospital Karapitiya,Galle

Past President of the College of Otolaryngologists of Sri Lanka. Had his postgraduate training in Sri Lanka and in the United Kingdom.
Examiner at the MD(ORL) exam. His interests are Otology and Laryngology.

Dr. Kirihene

Dr Kirihene is currently working as a Consultant ENT surgeon at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was trained in Sri Lanka and in Australia.He is a member of the College of Otolaryngologist of Sri Lanka and has served     as the secretary , treasurer and council member since 2012. He has been a member of the Board of Study in Otorhinolaryngology     since 2013. His main interest are in endoscopic sinus surgeries. He has served as a resource person in many of the ESS training workshops conducted in Sri Lanka.
